Jeff Jawer

Jeff Jawer American professional astrologer, one of the founding members of AFAN and one of the Steering Committee. He was an accomplished lecturer and counselor most noted for his pioneering work in the field of Astrodrama.

With a BA (Cum Laude) from the University of Massachusetts, Jeff was a professional astrologer since 1973. As a youth, he served in the U.S. Navy. Well known in the community as an innovative and dynamic teacher, writer and counselor, Jeff lectured around the world and the U.S. He co-authored four books and wrote a regular forecast column for the Mountain Astrologer. He made hundreds of radio and television appearances in the U.S. and Europe. In 1999 Jeff began writing Sun-sign dailies for the Internet. Shortly after that, he teamed up with Rick Levine to found StarIQ.com, an astrology web portal.

Early in January 2015 Jeff was diagnosed with lung cancer. A support fund, to help his family with the treatment cost, met a large response in the astrological community. Jeff passed away on the morning of 10 February 2015, 68 years old.

  • The Moon may play as important a role as the Sun in delineating character from a horoscope. However, we must confront sexist bias against the Moon in traditional astrological writings to fully utilize this planet in our work. This talk is an examination of these biases and how they effect astrology and our self-images.
