Words are powerful... but do you use the same words again & again to describe a planet? As professional Jyotishis, one needs to develop a more precise vocabulary so they can clearly explain the essence of Vedic philosophical concepts in both Sanskrit & English terminology.
For example, terms like 'debilitated' and 'exalted' need better English definition. Sanskrit concepts like atma, Brahman, prakriti, dharma, karma, gunas, doshas, devas, lokas, kala, Paramatma, grahas - which describe the Vedic philosophy all must be correctly explained to the client as the context of a reading.
Additionally, the nine grahas are departments of our being, and each planet 'owns' a group of words that describe the combinations possible in a chart. The Jyotishi requires an extensive vocabulary of English words that can describe the subtleties of each planet. This seminar Vedic Scholar Jeffrey Armstrong will delve into the linguistic issues and provide practical tools to improve the language skills of the Jyotishi.
This session will conclude with an empowering initiation into the Japa mantras of the 9 grahas.
